I am looking for information on my Grand Mother, Viola VALENTGOED, who lived in Washington and Utica during the 60's and up until her death in the lates 60's early 70's. At the time of her death she was living in a mobile home park between mound and Old Van Dyke in Utica, but in my early childhood, she lived behind the Schwin Bike shop and the Hardware store in old downtown Washington. She also lived in what is now Stoney Creek park at one time, before I was born. She is buried in a cemetary off 26 Mile Rd. next to my Grandfather Peter Valentgoed (Whom I know nothing about, except he is her 2nd husband). She had 6 children, 3 by the first marriage, and 3 by the 2nd. The 1st 3 children were: Patrick, Anne, and Tom. The 2nd 3 were Margret, Marie and Helen. Helen is my mother. Any information would be helpful and greatly apprieciated. Thanks, Richard Jensen

I am researching my family tree and there are a lot of people and names that I need to make connections to. My Grandmother Hellen and her sister Belle came from a large family that originated from the Harsen's Island - Flats area. Their parents were Charles SEARS (came from Germany--also a large family--lots of brothers) Victoria LOZEN,LOZON (French or French-Canadian--also from a large family). Together they had 7 or 8 children. Hellen (3/27/1889), Belle (3/27/1887), Steve, George, Josephine, Charles, Annie, not sure if there is another brother Albert. Or if Albert is an Uncle Albert Lozen? I am assuming that all of the children were born in Romeo, MI, because that is where my Aunt Belle and Grama Hellen were born.

Hellen Sears married William WOBROCK, they divorced and she married Herman Fredrick KOHN. She and Herman lived in the Detroit area after their marriage. Hellen lived in Lincoln Park, Mi, when she passed away.

Belle Married William BARR or LOZEN, (not sure yet), Divorced and Married William (Billy) BEDORE,--William Bedore owned a business with Scott J. Yacques--called Bedore & Yacques Sheet Piling, Algonac, MI, St. Clair Flats. Belle Bedore died in her home on Harsen's Island. May 1971.

Josephine (Josie), married William (Bill) BRITE--not sure of any other info on either of them. (I have photo's of them.) George SEARS married Annie?--they had a son named George, Jr. (I have photo's of them.) At present I do not have any information on the other Sears children.

Our family also has links to the CLAY families from Harsen's Island. These would be through cousins or marriages. I have photo's of people and no names. Any help with any of these people would be greatly appreciated. All of my family members are gone. All I have are pictures and memories of my Grandmother Hellen telling me about her family and all of the visits to my Aunt Belles on Harsen's Island, where I swam in the cut next to her house and fished in the Channel. I am researching my grandfathers family that lived in Mt. Clemens, Mi. His name was John Joseph COTTRELL. He was b. ca 1867/8 and was the son of Copley & Emily Cottrell. He had a sister Alice M. Cottrell TUCKER. I believe Copley died in 1908 in Mt Clemens as I have a statement & receipt for Inheritance Specific Tax dated 3/7/1909. It states Sons share & is received from Alice M. Tucker 6/27/1913.

I would like to know if there is a will & probate records available or any other information such as when the Cottrell family arrived in Mt. Clemens and his profession, family members. Actually I would be thrilled with any information available about he & his family. My Grandmother Sallie E. Gould/widow of Fred W. Gould of Saginaw Co. married John J. Cottrell 11/24/1903. I haven't located a marriage record as yet. I also have not researched land records. I believe Copley owned a great deal of property in Detroit.

I don't know what info or records would be available but if you could do a lookup & let me know what the cost is I would be most appreciative. I live in Calif. and Mt Clemens is a long way off!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much! LaVonne G. Remai

Seeking information on Emery FOX - born 11 September 1896 and died May 1978. Emery was married to Mattie Fox and I think Mattie was born on 4 July 1909 and died 26 July 1997. One of their children, Donald Emery Fox married in Australia in 1948. If anyone has any information on how I can search records on any this family or knows any members of this the family I would appreciate your assistance.

Emery Fox is listed in the Social Security Death index as being a residence of 48091 Warren, Macomb, MI. As an Australian I don't really know what this means but I believe Emery to be my grandfather. I was separated from my father Donald Emery when I was 1 year old and all the information I have is my birth certificate and more recently his marriage certificate which includes his parents names (Emery Albert Fox and Mattie Fox). I would dearly love to locate or find any members of my fathers family.Margaret Ann Fox
