For several years I have been attempting to discover the parents of Aden BURT, born about 1792, who lived in Washington Township (Romeo) and of James LESLIE ( of the same area).

Aden BURT and James LESLIE supposedly arrived about 1834. Both came from the east; Aden from New York and James from Vermont. Any tips would be appreciated.

In addition to BURT and LESLIE, I also have STARKWEATHER and LOCKE as Macomb County, Michigan families. Researcher's Home Page Thanks! Jerry Harrison

A few months back someone posted a message on the Genweb page for Warren County, NJ, stating that "there are many Warren County emigrants (sic) buried in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Macomb County, MI, including ...METZ.... As I am attempting to trace the Metz families of Warren Co, NJ and Northampton Co, PA (just across the Delaware River from each other), this posting has made me quite curious. I haven't even seen a listing for a Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Macomb County. Is there one? And is there a METZ researcher in Macomb who has information about the Warren County migrants? I have much about their early generations and will share. Marilyn Souders

NAME: Megan Lyle
My ancestors, Thomas and Jeanette/Janet (WALKER) LYLE married in Ayr, Scotland in 1851. They immediately immigrated to America and their first daughter, Jeannette/Jennett/Janet W., was b in Macomb Co Sept 1851. Their sons, James W, William W., George S. and Robert, were born in either [unknown twp], Macomb Co or Berlin twp, St Clair, MI in the 1850s or early 1860s. They w:ere Church of Scotland or Presbyterian. They appear in the Berlin twp, St Clair 1860 census but had moved to Lapeer co by 1870.

I wonder if anyone have any ideas on how to go about finding church records in these two counties as I think this is my only way to find their christenings and thus their birth information. I have already searched Lapeer Co marriage and death sources which have yielded these clues. Any newspapers announcing births? Any ideas you can think of would be appreciated. Megan Lyle
