Northampton Co, PA (just across the Delaware River from each other),
this posting has made me quite curious. I haven't even seen a
listing for a Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Macomb County. Is there one?
And is there a METZ researcher in Macomb who has information about
the Warren County migrants? I have much about their early
generations and will share.

Would like to exchange information with other family members regarding
Richard BUTLER, his son, Milton Hayes Butler (First married to Elizabeth
GRIGGS) and my great-grandfather, William Griggs Butler of Clinton
Township, Macomb County.
Richard Butler was a judge and the County Clerk for Macomb County. Milton
married for a second time and his wife died in childbirth but the child
survived. The last information I have regarding my great grandfather
William Griggs Butler was that in 1900, he was living in Detroit, was a
cigar manufacturer and was divorced from Della Wells Butler . He had two
children, Elizabeth Well Butler and Harry Butler. I do not know what
happened to Harry but can provide information on my grandmother, Elizabeth.
I also have two portraits that may be of the Butler family. Please write
to me at this address: Susan Curran White, 2826 108th Avenue S.E.,
Bellevue, Washington, 98004.
Thank you, Susan Curran White

I am searching for any information on Abraham FRANTZ, who lived in Armada during the late 1800's. His father was
Jacob FRANTZ and his mother's maiden name was SINGER. He married Adele KNICKERBOCKER. I am
curious as to which state this family emigrated from. Family tradition says the original Frantz's were Hessian soldiers,
but there are many Pennsylvania Dutch with this surname. Wonder what the truth is! Any information or help would
be thankfully received.

were the daughters of James A. and Sarah FERGUSON. James A. and his second

listed as 11 and Maggie was listed as 14. When James and Christina left
Macomb County(Bruce twp) in 1885 for Nebraska they did not take Mabel or
Maggie with them(or at least they didn't end up in Nebraska). I have a

I am looking for the death location, burial site and obit of Frank
Eakins NELLIS born 1857 died 2 Sep 1923. I also need his wife's full
name and vital stats. Frank worked with his father, succeeding him as
editor of the Monitor. He was also active as VP of Mt Clemens Electric
and Director of the Ullrich Savings Bank .
In the late 1920's Milo Nellis saught to determine the origins of the
naming of the small town of Nellis, Boone Co., WV. He wrote to T. E. B.
Siler of the American Rolling Mill Company (ARMCO) who indicated that
the town was named after Frank E. Nellis, editor of Mt. Clemens
Independent. Mine owners Matthew Slush and T. E. B. Siler were said to
have been instrumental in naming the town . The ARMCO Association of
Nellis, WV incorporated the (Fake) Nellis family crest into their
letterhead in July 1929. The ARMCO Bulletin edited by Hugh Wright at
Middletown, Butler Co., OH apparently published an article about Nellis,
WV and how it got it's name ca 1929 .

My ancestors, Thomas and Jeanette/Janet (WALKER) LYLE married in Ayr, Scotland in 1851. They immediately immigrated to America and their first daughter, Jeannette/Jennett/Janet W., was b in Macomb Co Sept 1851. Their sons, James W, William W., George S. and Robert, were born in either [unknown twp], Macomb Co or Berlin twp, St Clair, MI in the 1850s or early 1860s. They w:ere Church of Scotland or Presbyterian. They appear in the Berlin twp, St Clair 1860 census but had moved to Lapeer co by 1870.
I wonder if anyone have any ideas on how to go about finding church records in these two counties as I think this is my only way to find their christenings and thus their birth information. I have already searched Lapeer Co marriage and death sources which have yielded these clues. Any newspapers announcing births? Any ideas you can think of would be appreciated.

I am currently researching my family and I am seeking information for Danforth JONES, my great-grandfather. In the 1850 MI census, he is listed in Macomb County, Chesterfield Twp. with wife, JANE, and four sons. In the 1860 MI census, Danforth JONES was listed in St. Clair County, Kenockee Twp., but no mention of his wife and three of his sons. I can only think that sometime between the 1850 and 1860 census, DANFORTH and JANE have separated, and three of the sons remained with JANE (in Macomb County?), and Charles moved to St. Clair county with his father. After the 1860 census they have all but disappeared. Danforth JONES remarried to an Ester Corby Gregg (1862) of St. Clair County, MI. This is where I have lost track of the Jones's.
