Mike Starling, another Trimble Co. Genealogist has provided additional information connecting the Starling and Robbins families. Below is his letter, and again, his email address is no longer valid.

My earliest ancestor in Trimble Co, KY was Jesse STARLING (shows up in various Trimble Co, KY references from during 1837-1849 timeframe. He's in 1830 Gallatin Co, KY census listing, and is in his daughters 1813 Gallatin Co, marriage record. Now Jesse had 2 sons, only one of whom we positively know his name. That was James STARLING, b. 1815, Henry Co, KY. He marries Hannah Robbins? FERGUSON. He shows up in the Trimble Co, KY 1830, 1840, 1860, census. Took me along time to find what happened to him in 1850, but he turns up in Johnson Co, IN with his family. It appears he migrated there around 1840 and I also "discovered" some of his children that I never knew existed before.

Specifically, his oldest child as a daughter, Dortha / Dorthy STARLIN b. 1840, She ONLY shows up in the 1850 census - and is married and out of the house by the time the 1860 census rolls around. She marries a Daniel ROBINS / ROBBINS b. 1830, KY. Even more interesting is if you check the 1860 Trimble Co, KY(Milton) census,(in addition to James STARLING and his family who have now relocated back to Milton from Franklin, IN), you will find Daniel ROBBINS, b. 1830 with his wife Dortha b. abt 1840, and infant daughter Rosetta. They are living next to Samuel and Elizabeth BOSWELL. The Boswell's daughter, Martha, age 16 will marry Jeremiah STARLING (my great-grandfather) in 1862 in Madison, IN. Hence the Boswell's are almost "in-laws" and Dorthy Robbins must have surely been visited by her younger brother Jeremiah from time to time - you get the picture.

Anyway, to get back to the ROBBINS connection - in the 1850 Johnson Co, IN census, you will find: 1. William ROBBINS age 55, b. VA and his wife Bethier, b. KY and one of the sons still at home is Daniel ROBBINS - who will marry Dortha STARLING in 1857. 2. Richard ROBBINS, age 27, b. KY and his wife Bethier, age 27, b. KY and their 3 children. - listed in househould next to William ROBBINS.

Hence I believe that Anne ROBBINS TIPTON and I have a common ancestor in William ROBBINS, b. abt 1795, VA.. and a subsequent "cousin" relationship in the later generations (ie; Richard and Daniel ROBBINS were brothers in same family).
