I'm a relation of Jacob & Lydia SCHENK (BAILEY) who lived in Romeo,
Michigan in Macomb County. I'm looking for information on them and their
descendents. Jacob was my great-grandfather's brother. Jake was born on
Sept. 10, 1873 in Hanover , Ontario, Canada and died on Sept.22,1955.
I've noticed on the Macomb death records that a Lydia Schenk died on
June 15, 1967. I'm assuming that could be Jake's wife. In 1945 Jacob
lived at 139 Washington Street, Romeo, Michigan according to his
application for a social security number. Jake's parents were Jacob &
Elizabeth SCHENK (ROSSELL) whom I'm also looking for information on.
They may have resided in the Ann Arbor or Detroit area .
Some of Jake & Lydia descendents may still live in Macomb County and I
would be most interested in establishing communicaton with them. Also, I
do know that Jake & Lydia had a son named Hilbert Schenk, but have no
information on him.
I live in Regina, Saskatchewan,Canada and would appreciate any info that
you can provide.

I am researching my family tree and there are a lot of people and names that I need to make connections to.
My Grandmother Hellen and her sister Belle came from a large family that originated from the Harsen's Island - Flats area. Their parents were Charles SEARS (came from Germany--also a large family--lots of brothers) Victoria LOZEN,LOZON (French or French-Canadian--also from a large family). Together they had 7 or 8 children. Hellen (3/27/1889), Belle (3/27/1887), Steve, George, Josephine, Charles, Annie, not sure if there is another brother Albert. Or if Albert is an Uncle Albert Lozen? I am assuming that all of the children were born in Romeo, MI, because that is where my Aunt Belle and Grama Hellen were born.
Hellen Sears married William WOBROCK, they divorced and she married Herman Fredrick KOHN. She and Herman lived in the Detroit area after their marriage. Hellen lived in Lincoln Park, Mi, when she passed away.
Belle Married William BARR or LOZEN, (not sure yet), Divorced and Married William (Billy) BEDORE,--William Bedore owned a business with Scott J. Yacques--called Bedore & Yacques Sheet Piling, Algonac, MI, St. Clair Flats. Belle Bedore died in her home on Harsen's Island. May 1971.
Josephine (Josie), married William (Bill) BRITE--not sure of any other info on either of them. (I have photo's of them.)
George SEARS married Annie?--they had a son named George, Jr. (I have photo's of them.)
At present I do not have any information on the other Sears children.
Our family also has links to the CLAY families from Harsen's Island. These would be through cousins or marriages. I have photo's of people and no names.
Any help with any of these people would be greatly appreciated. All of my family members are gone. All I have are pictures and memories of my Grandmother Hellen telling me about her family and all of the visits to my Aunt Belles on Harsen's Island, where I swam in the cut next to her house and fished in the Channel.

I am researching my grandfathers family that lived in Mt. Clemens,
Mi. His name was John Joseph COTTRELL. He was b. ca 1867/8 and
was the son of Copley & Emily Cottrell. He had a sister Alice M.
Cottrell TUCKER. I believe Copley died in 1908 in Mt Clemens as I
have a statement & receipt for Inheritance Specific Tax dated 3/7/1909.
It states Sons share & is received from Alice M. Tucker 6/27/1913.
I would like to know if there is a will & probate records available or
any other information such as when the Cottrell family arrived in Mt.
Clemens and his profession, family members. Actually I would be

I've found all four mentioned in Macomb Co. but both marriages apparently
took place in Washtenaw Co. I've also found that James bought land in Macomb
Co. at some point. The oddest thing is that when I lived in the Soo I

Looking for anyone with info on Erastus DAY and Lucy WILLARD and related parties. Any assistance would be grateful. Erastus Day came from Massachusetts in early 1800's. Had many sons and daughters. Thank you for your help.
Jim Duggan
As a result of this query, we have this Biography of Erastus Day to add:
History of Macomb County, Michigan. Chicago: M.A. Leeson, 1882, p.791:
ERASTUS DAY, Sr., born at Dalton, Mass., in August, 1780; he is the son
of Daniel Day, born July 21, 1747; of Benjamin, born February 7, 1709;
of John, born 1677; of John Day, of Hartford, the son of Robert and
brother of Thomas Day, who emigrated to America in April, 1634, with his
wife, Mary, and, on arriving, settled at Newton, now Cambridge, Mass.
Erastus Day was a farmer in Massachusetts; while still young, he moved
with his parents to Otsego County, N.Y., where he was married to Lucy
Willard, of Worcester, Mass., at the close of the year 1807. In 1812,
Mr. Day moved into Canada -- not, however, as a U.E. Loyalist, as he
refused to join the British troops; he remained in Canada several years;
next made his home at Lima, N.Y., for a few years, and came to Michigan
in May, 1826, locating lands on Section 26, Bruce, where he resided
until he died, July 12, 1836. His children were Erastus, now residing
in Richmond Township; John W., a resident of Mason, Ingham County;
Russell, died at Armada June, 1880; Dan. W., living at Greenville,
Montcalm County; Levi, a physician of Grandville, Kent County; Lucinda,
who married Volney Day, a resident of Kalamazoo; and Lucy, who died at
home, in New York, in infancy. Mr. Day's early settlement in Macomb is
alluded to in the general history of the county, as well as in that of
the northern townships. Mrs. Day, born in August, 1780, formerly Miss
Lucy Willard, died in 1855, aged seventy-five years; her remains were
brought from Kalamazoo, where she was staying with her daughter, and
interred in the cemetery near where she first settled in Michigan.

I am searching for any
information on Silas KNICKERBOCKER and his wife Lucy; and their children. I
have two children: Albert and Lucy.
Silas and Lucy both bought land, in their own names--Silas 40 acres and Lucy
80 acres--I believe in Armada Township on the same day, 28 Oct. 1835, from
the land office in Detroit. I do not know what became of Silas; Lucy,
apparently widowed, was enumerated in Armada in the 1860 census living with
Albert, Lucy, and Albert's wife Eliza Pratt. I would like to learn more
about this early family in Macomb County. (Albert and Eliza are buried in
Hadley Cemetery.)
Thanks,
