Trimble Co., youngest s/o William B. and Elizabeth Peak Averitt, b. in the Liberty Com., he was a teacher in Trimble Co. for a time. m. to ERCELL WOOD of Milton in 1909, 2 children. Nancy Elizabeth who died at age 16 and Richard Averitt, Jr. of Fla. Family lived in Indiana before retirement then moved to Fla. His father was brought as a two year old to the county in 1832. William died 1912, buried Bedford Cemetery. He had a family of 16 children and raised 13 to manhood and womanhood. Col. "Dick" was the youngest and last to pass away.
