Macomb County Michigan Research Assistance

Be sure to contact Ann Faulkner local genealogy researcher, concerning help at the Mt. Clemens Library, Macomb County Genealogy Group or her Macomb County Resources on the "Helplist". For those of you who are unfamiliar with the "Helplist", it can be viewed by clicking the link, above. Mt. Clemens Public Library and Genealogy Resources On-Line A new research service is available through the Mount Clemens Library. For a $5 service charge payable to the Library you can have an hour of research & two copies (most vitals require 2 pages), with additional copies, billed at .20/pg + postage. Besides the LDS films listed above, marriages 1849-1861 are available at the library, as well as Mount Clemens newspapers on film from the 1880s forward and cemetery records. It takes an average of 10-15 minutes to search and copy one record, so you have the potential of obtaining 4-6 records within an hour. The researcher, a non-paid library volunteer, is also willing to check & make copies of death records 1917-1952. She does work fulltime, so patience is needed with any request. Marriages from 1923 and deaths from 1953 are not available through this service & must be ordered through the Clerks Office. Other types of records, such as divorces or probate records can be obtained through the above, but search time & copy costs vary so you would probably only be able to obtain one record (probably with several pages) under the $5.00 search fee. Although, her time is donated to benefit the Local History Room of the Mount Clemens Library, copies of records obtained from sources other than the library or additional postage, must be reimbursed directly to the researcher.
