The period these obituaries were written, they were called in to the paper. In many instances the names were written incorrectly and some omitted. There are many mistakes in obituaries.

MADDOX, William F., 70, died 16 Oct 1946, buried Moffett Cem., b. Trimble Co. 20 Apr 1876, s/o George W. and Martha Bates Maddox, m. 6 Sep 1908 to ALTA KING who survives with 4 of their 6 children Martha, Edna, Grace and Charley Maddox. 2 children died in infancy.

MAHONEY, Cary B., 72, Pine Ridge neighborhood died 26 Jan 1941, bur. Mahoney burial grounds, b. 2 Feb 1868. m. REBECCA JANE MAHONEY who surv. and 7 of their 10 children Mrs. Ethel Williams, Mrs. Pauline Conner, Mrs. Violet Carter, Clarence, Earl, Clinton and Wilson Mahoney.

MAHONEY, Fallis "Fall," 94, Lexington, KY died 12 Dec 1948, buried there by wife. Born and reared in Trimble Co. on the farm now owned by Sam McKinney. He later moved to Bedford, taught in county schools a number of years, later he served as School Superintendent. His wife the former HALLIE PEAK, a sister of Howard and the late Judge R. F. Peak, died several years ago.

McCAIN, Edward Bartlett, 71, died 25 Feb 1942, bur. IOOF West Bedford, b. Bedford, 17 Dec 1870, s/o Capt. J. W. and Katie Bartlett McCain, m. NORA COLEMAN, son Joe McCain who was 1st Trimble Co. soldier to lose his life in the 1st World War. After death of wife, he m. 2nd LULA COLBERT, who also preceded him many yrs ago, 1 child Mrs. Cecil Hayden, he m. 3rd to CALLIE VANHOOK who survives, 2 ch. Charles E. McCain and Mrs. Joe Frost, 1 dau. died in infancy, surv. by bro. L. H. McCain. In his youth he studied medicine in Miss. and Law in Texas. Upon his return to Bedford, went into government revenue service, later was associated with Dr. C. A. Bell in the drug business before beginning his long career as a funeral director with late Hon. Claude B. Terrell.

McCAIN, Katie, 77, died (ca 1938,) burial IOOF Bedford. A resident of Trimble Co. most of life, died at home of daughter in Little Rock, Ark. d/o Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Bartlett, she was twice married and was widow of late SENATOR J. W. McCAIN. Survived by 3 children, a daughter by 1st marriage, Mrs. Helen Hemingway, 2 sons by 2nd marriage, E. b. and L. H. McCain, a sister, Miss Carrie Bartlett.

McCAIN, Linn Hemingway, 71, Lexington, KY died 13 Feb 1949, buried IOOF West Bedford, born and reared in Bedford, s/o late Captain J. W. McCain and Katie Bartlett McCain, m. Apr 1911 to CALLIE MOSSER of Pleasant Retreat community. Survived by wife, 2 sons Anthony B. and Linn H. McCain, Jr. Preceded by a brother E. B. McCain age 71, died February.
