Leeson's History of Macomb Co. pp. 484-496 Jeremiah CURTISS died in Shelby Township November 3, 1872, aged eighty years. He was born near Albany, N.Y., Aug. 2, 1793; served in the War of 1812 [#SC-18311]; married Mercy EWELL June 10, 1812[ Pavillion, Genesee Co., NY]; moved West in 1832 and settled in Shelby Twp., Macomb County continuously until his death. 4. Sarah Matilda CURTIS b. October 28, 1823 NY and m. Robert WELTS December 14, 1843. She died Sept. 28, 1863

5. Paulina CURTIS b. September 22, 1825 NY and m. Smith DAVIS February 22, 1848. She died October 15, 1879 Shelby Twp.

6. Violetta CURTIS b. december 23, 1827 NY who m. Sylvester TAFT and d. in California

7. Edwin CURTIS b. September 28, 1829 NY and m. Frances Amelia HAWLEY. He d. September 18,1877 St. Joseph, MO.

8. James Ewell CURTIS b. March 14 ,1832 He m. Nancy Maria DAVIS September 28, 1858 and d. September 3, 1901 in Rochester, Oakland Co., MI

9. Ann Janette CURTIS b. December 25, 1833 and d. March 23, 1907 Shelby Twp.

10. Byron CURTIS b. November 15, 1836, m. Nancy Janette FORBES and d. December 28, 1871 Shelby Twp.

11. Anson Swartz CURTIS b. August 15, 1841, m Annie RICE December 25, 1868 Macomb Co., and d. 1872 St. Louis MO.

This CURTIS family for the most part is buried in the CURTIS Cemetery in Disco, Macomb County Michigan.
