March 20, 1997 found Tony and me embarking on our 25th anniversary trip to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. On a previous trip to the islands, we had visited Oahu and the Big Island. This was our first trip to Kauai and we looked forward to discovering it with great anticipation! Now that we are home again, and back to "real life" I've put this pictorial together so that our friends and family - near and far, can enjoy a bit of this most beautiful place! A warm Aloha is found everywhere on Kauai!
Our home away from home, The Outrigger Hotel on Kuhio Highway, on the east coast of Kauai in L'ihue. That's Tony, enjoying the beautiful grounds of the hotel. Upon our arrival at the Outrigger we were greated with beautiful plumeria Lei's - my favorite Hawaiian flower - and some of the nicest people we have ever met. Charlotte, Minako and Pat, thanks for making our vacation on Kauai so special! We'll never forget you!
This is me, wearing my Plumeria lei at Smith's Tropical Paradise. We went here one evening for a traditional Hawaiian Luau. The grounds were lush and beautiful and the occasional rain didn't dampen our spirits. We enjoyed our meal, and especially the company of Charlotte and Minako, from the Outrigger, who joined us.
