This page now in excellent working order and is dedicated to my father who will no doubt be relieved that I have finally taken the time to sit down and fix it!

This is my cottage! You've heard about it - and I spend most of my life there - so here at last, is my cottage. It is located just south of Amherstberg, Essex County, Ontario, Canada on the north shore of Lake Erie at the mouth of the Detroit River. The top photo is a view from the road, the bottom photo shows our little gazebo, which is a lovely little spot to sit in on warm summer evenings to escape those pesky mosquitos! The view across the lake is of just north of Monroe Michigan.



This first photo is a view of the house from the lake side and the bottom picture is of two passing lake freighters - one headed upbound through the Detroit River and the other downbound towards the St. Lawrence Seaway. The freighters come close enough in that with binoculars we can easily read their names and we've taken up logging the ships that pass.
