"We have a wonderful museum here in Alba, (it's the first schoolhouse built here in Alba in 1881). The building is all brick and of course has the tin ceilings and walls. We have been busy cleaning and a few months ago put on a new door and new steps into the building. Our hours are May thru Sept. the third Saturday of each month we are open from 1:00 to 3:00. We have an enormous amount of old photographs and history. At the Alba Library we found a large amount of historical documents pertaining to the Alba area and Antrim County. I am also working with Mary Kay McDuffie of the Antrim Historical Society. My sister-in-law has been doing alot of work on the Alba pioneers and their families. I am currently working on a book that contains all of the Alba Service Men and the letters that they wrote home while they were in the service in World War I and II."
Museum hours are May through September the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1-3PM.

The "Alba Historical Society" is now
selling their 2005 Military Calendars at a cost of $10.00
each. The calendar contains 100 photos of Alba and
surrounding area servicemen and women that have served in
the armed forces since the Korean War up to the present.
They turned out beautifully and would make an excellent
Christmas present. All proceeds go the the continuing effort
of remodeling the Alba Historical Museum.
To purchase this calendar, please contact Theresa Johnson, president of the Alba Historical Society by email at kass@avci.net, or by telephone at 231-584-2593.
